This video from oorail.com shows some of the progress made on the layout for August 2015. The big project for August was to divide one of the loops that runs through Chippenham Junction into independently powered block sections. Ultimately I ended up splitting it into six sections (A1, B1, C1, A2, B2, C2), with three bachmann DC controllers powering A1+A2, B1+B2, C1+C2 respectively. This will later be relay controlled and powered by six controllers, but this was mainly a proof of concept test. Excuse the wiring mess, haven't found the time to do cable management yet!
