This video from oorail.com is a quick start guide for adding DCC to an existing DC based Model Railway Layout. The video shows how to run DCC alongside DC on the same layout. In this video we convert one large loop on the DC layout to DCC. We show how we wired it up so that we could switch the loop between DCC and DC controllers. The end result is a layout that has both DC and DCC capabilities.
