Filmed on Saturday July 26th 2014 at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois, USA, this video from oorail.com shows the steam locomotive Frisco #1630, a Russian Class Ye 2-10-0 steam locomotive powered by coal built in 1918, starting up and moved to the main line. The locomotive has been at the Museum since 1973 but was taken out of service in 2004 for restoration. The restoration was completed by October 2013, and it returned to excursion service during Memorial Day weekend this year (2014). This 96 year old steam locomotive is in fantastic condition, and we were very lucky to arrive at the museum last weekend as it was being prepared for service, and we were able to get within a few feet of the locomotive. While its a little different from our normal model railway videos, we thought it would be a great way to start our week long 1000+ subscriber appreciation week! Enjoy!
Bachmann do produce a model of this locomotive in HO scale, there are a limited number of them available through Hattons:
